Between 2004 and 2008 she has made several trips around these countries, the last one being a year-long tour of South America.
    “….what always strikes me the most as I travel around the countries of the third world is how different the faces of the people and the clothes that they wear can be. People living in our western culture, no matter whether you go to Germany, France or the US, are to a great extent “unified” because of globalization. The third world retains its rich variety thanks to the preservation of its cultures and traditions. Although far from being the most common object of my photographs, I have nevertheless chosen photographs of people for this exhibition. Their expressions are not only fascinating but they also allow you to glimpse into their lives and maybe feel the emotions that they feel in their faraway worlds.

    On the other hand, if you wanted to somehow characterize the third world, pointing out something that the various countries have in common, then it would be the colours – bright, vivid colours that accompany the people of these intriguing countries throughout their everyday lives.
    Let yourself be carried away to faraway places and look into the faces of this colourful world.”
